Aedes mosquitoes frequently appear in Mission Valley. These aggressive biters prefer to feed on humans and are capable of spreading diseases such as dengue, yellow fever, and chikungunya. They lay eggs in spots that will gather water, and their eggs can survive drying out and hatch later when conditions improve.
Two primary species in the region are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Aedes aegypti, or the yellow fever mosquito, commonly breeds in small water containers in urban areas. Aedes albopictus, the Asian tiger mosquito, is easily recognized by its black body with white stripes. Both species are active during daylight hours, especially near dawn and dusk.
Anopheles mosquitoes are a primary focus for mosquito control efforts in Mission Valley. These mosquitoes lay their eggs on water surfaces, particularly in areas with heavy vegetation or algae. The boat-shaped eggs have lateral floats to help them stay afloat. Anopheles larvae rest parallel to the water, lacking the siphon seen in other species. Adults rest with their bodies aligned in a straight line. Anopheles mosquitoes are the only species known to transmit malaria, making them a serious concern.
Mission Valley is home to five species of Anopheles mosquitoes, commonly found in vegetated pools, algal blooms, and agricultural environments. Their biting patterns occur at dawn, dusk, and night, making targeted control measures essential to reducing their numbers and minimizing the risk of malaria.
Culiseta mosquitoes are prevalent in Mission Valley. They lay eggs on water, forming rafts, and their larvae hang beneath the surface. Adult mosquitoes feature a rounded abdomen, and while some species can bite hard, others are more passive.
Mission Valley is home to four species of these mosquitoes. While they are generally less aggressive, they can still pose health concerns. Our mosquito control treatments help reduce their population, ensuring a safer and more pleasant living environment.
Culex mosquitoes are a common pest in Mission Valley, known for transmitting diseases like West Nile virus, St. Louis encephalitis, and Western equine encephalitis. These mosquitoes are most active at dawn, dusk, and after nightfall. They lay eggs on water, creating a raft-like structure. You’ll often find them near ponds, stagnant pools, and vegetated areas.
Adult mosquitoes are light brown and have a pale band around their proboscis. They prefer to bite during the night. Effective control involves removing standing water and applying treatments as needed.
We begin our mosquito control with a detailed inspection of your yard to identify breeding areas, such as standing water and overgrown bushes. For effective treatment, we recommend cleaning your yard and removing stagnant water before our team arrives.
The treatment generally takes about 30 minutes, though larger yards may take a little longer. We use fogging and the In2Care system, both of which are safe for children and pets. The In2Care system continues to work after we leave, helping to stop mosquito breeding.
Our mosquito control service keeps your yard mosquito-free all season long. Each monthly session lasts around 30 minutes, depending on the yard’s size. We recommend clearing any standing water before we arrive. Our treatments are safe for both children and pets, so you can relax and enjoy your yard without worry.
We use the In2Care system to target mosquito breeding sites, reducing their population over time. Monthly fogging creates a protective barrier that stops mosquitoes from neighboring properties from entering your yard. Our technicians will also point out areas in your yard that attract mosquitoes and suggest easy prevention measures. Our treatments remain effective even after rain.
We proudly serve Mission Valley and its surrounding regions, working hard to keep your homes and businesses free from pests. Our team values these communities and is committed to delivering excellent service and lasting results.
